UN Ambassadors 2026

The UN Ambassadors Seminar, held from 5 to 8 October 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, brought together 18 young Jewish leaders from across Europe for four days of diplomacy, international relations, and advocacy. The seminar aims to introduce participants to the work of the United Nations and other international organisations, helping them better understand how international diplomacy functions and how young people can engage with global decision-making processes. Through meetings with diplomats, institutional representatives, and civil society organisations, participants gain first-hand insights into international affairs while developing their own knowledge and skills as young advocates.
This year's programme offered participants the opportunity to engage directly with a wide range of international institutions and diplomatic missions. Highlights included meetings with the Ambassador of Israel to the UN in Geneva, Daniel Meron, representatives of the Permanent Missions of Germany and the United States, and the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to the UN, Ambassador Michele Cervone d'Urso. Participants also visited the Palais des Nations and met with representatives of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Jewish Congress, and UN Watch. These exchanges provided different perspectives on international cooperation, human rights, humanitarian action, and the role of diplomacy in addressing contemporary global challenges.
During the seminar, participants discovered Geneva's Jewish heritage through a guided city tour, connected with members of the local Jewish community during a diplomatic dinner, and exchanged experiences with EUJS alumni.
Taking place around the anniversary of the October 7 attacks, the programme also included participation in commemorative events organised by the Israeli Mission and the wider community. Throughout the four days, participants had opportunities to reflect on their experiences, ask questions, and build connections with fellow young leaders, leaving Geneva with a renewed understanding of the importance of bringing young Jewish perspectives into global conversations.
