The largest gathering of young Jews in Europe
Since 1984, Summer U has brought together generations of young Jews from across Europe and beyond. Organised by the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS), it has become the largest annual gathering of young Jews in Europe, welcoming hundreds of participants from dozens of countries each summer. More than just a conference, Summer U is where friendships are formed, ideas are exchanged, communities are strengthened, and future Jewish leaders begin their journeys. Every edition is unique, but the mission remains the same: to celebrate Jewish life, empower young people, and bring together a diverse European Jewish community.
Demand speaks for itself: the record-breaking 2026 edition sold out in just 9 hours, with many more joining the waiting list, a testament to just how much young Jews across Europe want to be part of this experience.

What is Summer U?

For one week, participants take part in an exciting programme that blends education, culture, leadership, activism, and plenty of fun. From morning until late at night, the programme offers something for everyone. Participants can choose from workshops, panel discussions, lectures, skill-building sessions, informal conversations, sports activities, excursions, and social events. Whether you're passionate about Jewish identity, politics, advocacy, entrepreneurship, culture, or simply meeting people from across Europe, Summer U offers countless opportunities to learn and connect.

A celebration of Jewish life

Summer U is, above all, a celebration of Jewish life in all its diversity. Each edition includes a communal Shabbat, bringing together participants from a wide variety of Jewish backgrounds and traditions. Through services, shared meals, singing, Shabbat remains one of the most meaningful experiences of the week.

The Traditions of Summer U

The programme also features some of Summer U's most iconic traditions, including:
-The elegant Gala Dinner
-
The legendary Summer U Awards
-
Opportunity bazaar
These moments have become traditions that generations of participants remember long after Summer U has ended.
