EUJS Welcomes the EU Decision to Designate the IRGC as a Terrorist Organisation
.jpg)
Finally this moment has come!
The designation of the IRGC on the EUโs terror list is long overdue. It was the only possible decision, one that should have been taken years ago.
But we also acknowledge that this cannot be where it ends.
A barbaric regime that represses its own people, exports terror, and fuels violence far beyond its borders cannot continue to enjoy diplomatic legitimacy. Diplomatic ties must be cut, embassies closed, and all political normalisation brought to an end.
At the same time, Europe must stand clearly and decisively with the people of Iran in their struggle for freedom, dignity, and fundamental rights.
Recognition without action is not enough. This decision must mark the beginning, not the conclusion.
