After Copenhagen: #IGoToSynagogue

We woke up to tragedy this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those killed and injured in yesterday’s murderous attacks in Copenhagen.

The World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) and the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) jointly call on everyone to show solidarity with the Jewish community of Denmark. You can do this by using the hashtag #IGoToSynagogue to express the right of all Jews to gather and live their Judaism in safety and peace; to take a firm position in the face of anti-Semitism; and to also share why living Judaism as part of a community matters to you.

We also call on everyone able to gather at Danish embassies around the world, to express solidarity with the Danish people, to light a candle in memory of yesterday’s victims and to stand tall and strong against terror.

“#IGoToSynagogue – Because Judaism is lived in family and community, at synagogues and community centres. We will continue to gather, despite the ever increasing threats and attacks. Yes, #IGoToSynagogue. And ask you all, no matter your beliefs, to join me in expressing this sentiment by using the hashtag.”, said EUJS President Jane Braden-Golay
