Some 30 plus European Union of Jewish Student ambassadors from across Europe and America have come together in Geneva to mark the 13th regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council by attending the 2nd annual session of the Geneva Summit for Human Rights, Tolerance and Democracy.

Organised by a coalition of over 25 NGOs, the Geneva Summit aims to remind the United Nations and the world of their responsibility to the most compelling human rights situations across the globe, which the United Nations Human Rights Council annually fails to deal with.

President of the European Union of Jewish Students, Benjamin Zagzag noted that “the Geneva Summit is a unique opportunity for young Jewish Students to engage in a genuine human rights discussion and dialogue, and we can only hope the UN takes its responsibility to human rights as seriously as everyone present here today”.

The European Union of Jewish Students is proud of its history as a human rights campaigner and as such is privileged to play an integral role within the annual Geneva Summit. EUJS supports the core principles of the Geneva Summit as well as the aims and goals as set by the conference organisers; the promotion of human rights, tolerance and democracy.
