The Italian Union of Jewish Students and Young Professionals (UGEI) was born on the 21st May 1995, and is the successor of FGEI (Federation of Young Italian Jews).
UGEI represents, coordinates, and unites the Jewish youth organisations and the over 4000 young Jews between 18 and 35 years old living in Italy.
UGEI represents all Italian Jewish youth associations at the Union of Italian Jewish Communities (UCEI) and participates as an observer with speaking rights at its Council meetings, and has the right to be present during its Congress.
UGEI is led by the Executive Board, which is elected every two years by the Congress, the Union’s sovereign body.
Within UGEI, there is an official press body, HaTikwa (born in 1949), and an events department, REWiBE (created in 2020), which, together with its Offices, Executive Director, and working Commissions, make up the team of collaborators supporting the Board.
Its current Board is composed of: Luca Spizzichino (President), Ioel Arturo Roccas (Vice President), Anna Tognotti (Treasurer), Ariela Di Gioacchino (Secretary General), Ruben Forti, Ghila Lascar, and Shulamit Bondì.
