From Solidarity to Action: EUJS Mission in Ukraine

Together with OlamAid, EUJS is fundraising to transform an underground shelter at a Jewish community school in Kharkiv into a safe space for 180 children.

Kharkiv lies just around 30 kilometres from the Russian border. For the 180 children attending this school, air-raid alerts are part of everyday life. When the sirens sound, they have to move underground, sometimes spending hours there.

Right now, their shelter is a bare basement. It lacks reliable water, functioning sanitation, backup power and secure doors.

We want to change that.

Our goal is to raise €9,990, or 555 × Chai (חי). Chai means life in Hebrew and has the numerical value of 18.

Every contribution brings us closer to a shelter where children can be both safe and feel safe.

€18 can provide five emergency thermal blankets.
€72 can provide a full first-aid kit.
€288 can provide a 500-litre water tank.
€972 can provide a blast-rated entrance door.
