Jewish Students to Hold Minutes of Silence Across Europe to Commemorate the Holocaust and Call Attention to Rising Antisemitism and Racism
(Brussels, Wednesday, January 27th, 2015) – Members of the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS), together with non-Jewish youth, will hold minutes of silence at sites across Europe, including at Auschwitz, Theresienstadt and Bergen-Belsen, in memory of the millions of Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust. The project will also include officials at the Council of Europe and the European Parliament, and be accompanied by a social media campaign.

EUJS joins press release calling for a stronger commitment to fighting racism, anti-Semitism, discrimination and xenophobia
EUJS joined 13 other organizations last month to sign a joint press release calling for a stronger commitment to fighting racism, anti-Semitism, discrimination and xenophobia. While this was in relation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, these are issues we must remain committed too year round.

EUJS President, Jane Braden-Golay gives speech in light of International Holocaust Memorial Day at the Council of Europe in Strasburg
On Monday, January 26th, current EUJS President, Jane Braden-Golay was invited to speak at the Council of Europe in Strasburg, France. She addressed delegations of parliamentarians from 47 countries, and spoke as a representative of Jewish students across Europe. She addressed the Parliamentary Assembly in light of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and spoke of how the memory of the victims of the Holocaust is best honored through action in the here and now.
