The European Union of Jewish Students is pleased to announce that current EUJS vice-Chair Benjamin Zagzag, has been elected as the 19th Chairperson of the EUJS the bi-annual Congress. Set within the weeklong Summer University, which this year brought together over 450 participants, the EUJS Congress remains a model for organizations throughout the European Youth Sector.
During its bi-annual Congress held at the 26th Summer University in Maloja, Switzerland, over sixty official delegates from more than twenty-five countries elected a new slate of officers and presidium members for the 2010-2012 term. Joining Benjamin are: Paulina Zaharieva, Bulgaria; Daniel Orelowitz, England; Jane Braden-Golay, Switzerland; Michele Disegni, Italy; Victoria Godik, Ukraine; Ceni Palti, Turkey; Simoni Tiano, Greece. Also elected at the EUJS Congress were Andrei Schwartz, Romania, as Treasurer.
In addittion were former EUJS' Chair Lionel Schreiber and former EUJS' Executive Director, David Nachfolger elected as Honorary Members of EUJS.
EUJS joins all its 34 member unions in celebrating our tradition of democracy and geographic pluralism as the new set of officers being their transition period with the outgoing Presidium. Much of the success of EUJS in the last two years is due to the dedication of devotation shown by the outgoing Presidium.
The newly elected EUJS' Presidium will start it mandate on January 1st 2010.
