Great political activism from Brussels! On October 2nd 2020, a day after the annual celebration of the official establishment of the People's republic of China, a protest gathering close to 800 hundred people was organized in front of the Chinese embassy in Brussels by the Belgian Uyghur Association and UEJB. This action was simultaneously held in 50 other cities across the world, including Vienna, London and Berlin. Those protests aimed at sending a message to Chinese authorities that the world was not going to sit still while they were committing a cultural genocide on the Uyghurs.
The goal of the protest here was also to show politicians in Belgium and the European institutions that the horrific events happening in East Turkestan were of the highest concern and had to be addressed by Belgian and EU officials. This Demonstration was organized in the frame of the EUJS campaign "Never Again Right Now!".
