Pesach sameach from EUJS

Pesach sameach from EUJS

Dear friends,

During my recent travels to the US I was honoured to address the congregation of Park Avenue Synagogue with a little Dvar Thorah that I would like to share with you:

When the Israelites stood in front of the Red Sea and doubted their godly guidance, they refused to walk into the water. Nachshon ben Aminadav was a young Israelite who broke out and entered the sea, which eventually split. The Rabbis say, that every generation has and needs it's Nachshon; a person who is willing to take the first step, despite uncertainty.

Ever since our last newsletter Europe has changed. Brussels, our very hometown was attacked and there was little to no time left in order to process everything that had happened.

In these times it is the young generation, that can and must make a difference; take a first step, as Nachshon did.

In the name of the whole team I want to invite you, to be a part of our efforts to make those steps in society!

Don't forget to sign up for Summer U, come and visit us here in Brussels and have a blessed and joyful Pessach.

Chag Sameach,

EUJS President
