The European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) is pleased to announce that Jonas Karpantschof has now completed his transition to Brussels and has officially assumed his elected position as Chairperson of EUJS effective January 1st 2008. Jonas will be assisted throughout his term by a diligent, dedicated, and committed Presidium composed of Andrei Schwartz (Romania), Benjamin Zagzag (France), Gal Leiferman Bensadon (Spain), Aleksander Belevski (Serbia), Victor Pliner (Russia), Chaggai Kon (The Netherlands), Aron Waltuch (Switzerland), and Gad Lazarov (Italy). The team will be completed on Monday February 4th with the arrival of the new executive Director, Lili Dardashti from Switzerland. Jonas, Lili and the Presidium are ready to embrace the many opportunities and challenges the upcoming two years will bring. Together will they ensure that EUJS will continue to grow, fulfill its commitment towards its constituency, and sustain its role as one of the largest student unions worldwide. The electoral transition also marked the culmination of Olga Israel’s mandate as Chairperson. With her immeasurable dedication and vision, Olga reached out to a new generation of student leaders and forged new relationships with communities and institutions around the world. Jonas joins everyone at EUJS in expressing their sincerest gratitude to Olga, Arielle, the outgoing Presidium, and the entire 2006-2008 EUJS team for bringing the organization to newer and greater heights. Their contributions will continue to shine brightly for many years to come, and we wish them the best of luck in this new stage of their careers.
