Youth Training on Hate Crime
On September 27-28, 2015 the European Union of Jewish Students' Policy Director, Karin Flieswasser, took part in a two-day Youth Training on Hate Crime provided by OSCE/ODIHR in their Warsaw office. The Youth Training on Hate Crime provided a platform for fellow European NGOs to share their views regarding their work on the fight against human rights abuses, such as hate crime and discrimination. The Youth Training specifically focused on the legal application of the social concept of a hate crime, and how NGOs can step in to support victims in their efforts to seek justice upon suffering from hate crime.
Human Dimension Implementation Meeting
Following the Youth Training, on September 29-30, 2015 the OSCE held its annual Human Dimension Implementation Meeting, during which its participating states and other public stakeholders from civil society represented their concerns for the OSCE to consider. The European Union of Jewish Students, too, prepared a speech regarding the impeding climate of anti-Semitism in Europe today. Karin Flieswasser delivered an intervention with the support of Incoming President, Benny Fischer, and Outgoing President, Jane Braden-Golay.
