
This past June, EUJS Chairperson Andi Gergely accepted an invitation to speak at the fifth annual Israeli Presidential Conference in Jerusalem fom June 18-20. Held under the auspices of Israeli President Shimon Peres, the conference brought together Jewish leaders from around the world to discuss and engage with the issues that currently vex our world.
Representing EUJS, Ms. Gergely spoke on a panel entitled “The Campus as a Crossorads in the Life of a Young Jew”, which featuring distinguished guests such as
Natan Sharansky, Chairman of the Jewish Agency and Mark Yudof, Former President of the University of California.
Her speech gave a concise overview of different European Jewish communities and the challenges they face, and was well received by the audience.
