Vice-chair Jane Braden-Golay represented EUJS during the one-week seminar held in Bánk, Hungary. Initiated by Marom Hungary and endorsed by the European Commission, „Volunticipate!“ aims to build community across Europe through volunteer work related to social change. The 30 participants representing various Roma and Jewish organizations were given the opportunity to learn about volunteering, volunteer management and to discuss and apply their newly aquired knowledge during the third Lake Bánk Festival, where NGOs active in the field of Jewish and Roma issues presented good initiatives in community building and provided cultural programs related to minority experience.
EUJS believes in reaching out to new partners in order to build important coalitions and to contribute to an inclusive Europe. The “Volunticipate!” project laid a solid foundation for connecting with Roma youth organizations, exchanging experiences about minority identity and highlighted a shared concern for the marginalization of minorities.
